Digital PDFs and scanned documents are not the same. Media2Excel lets you choose whether to use a PDF’s existing text or force visual OCR when you need it.
Auto — recommended for most PDFs
Uses the PDF’s embedded text when available. This is usually the fastest choice for normal digitally-generated PDFs.
Force OCR
Ignores embedded PDF text and reads the rendered page visually using your selected OCR engine. Useful for scans or documents with unreliable embedded text.
Tesseract + Auto
A good starting point for ordinary PDFs and documents containing usable embedded text.
PP-OCRv6 Small + Force OCR
Useful when working with scanned documents, difficult symbols, or when you want the page to be read visually instead of using embedded PDF text.
If results are incorrect
Try the other OCR engine or switch between Auto and Force OCR. OCR accuracy depends on document quality, layout, resolution and table complexity.

Media2Excel installs as a Windows desktop application. No Python, Tesseract installation or separate OCR setup is required by the user.

Download the official Media2Excel installer for Windows.
STEP 02
Select a document
Choose a supported PDF or image and select where the finished workbook should be saved.
STEP 03
Choose options
Select Tesseract or PP-OCRv6 Small and choose Auto or Force OCR when needed.
STEP 04
Convert
Create the workbook, open it in Excel and review the extracted tables.
Privacy-focused workflow
Your document stays on your computer for conversion
Media2Excel performs document conversion locally on your Windows device. This can be useful when working with business reports, financial statements, administrative documents or other files you would rather not upload to an online converter.
Internet access may still be used for application update checks and other online application services, but the source document itself does not need to be uploaded for conversion.
Important: Media2Excel is currently a Beta release
Media2Excel 0.4.1 Beta is an early Windows release. OCR and table extraction results can vary depending on the source document, so generated workbooks should always be reviewed before being relied upon for important work.
The current Windows installer is not yet digitally signed with a trusted Windows code-signing certificate. Windows SmartScreen or Smart App Control may therefore warn about or block the application on some computers.
Do not weaken or disable your device’s Windows security policies to run Media2Excel. If your device blocks the current Beta, wait for a future signed release or test it on a suitable device where your existing security policy permits it.

Is Media2Excel free?
Media2Excel 0.4.1 Beta is currently available as a free Beta download.
Can Media2Excel convert scanned PDFs?
Yes. Supported scanned PDFs and images can be processed using OCR. Results depend on factors such as image quality, resolution, document layout and table structure.
Which OCR engines are included?
Media2Excel currently includes Tesseract and PP-OCRv6 Small. You can select the engine from the conversion options.
Are my PDF files uploaded to a server?
No document upload is required for conversion. Supported documents are processed locally on the Windows computer running Media2Excel.
Do I need to install Python or Tesseract?
No. The Windows package includes the runtime components required by the application, including its OCR dependencies.
What is the difference between Auto and Force OCR?
Auto uses embedded PDF text when available. Force OCR disables that text extraction path and reads the rendered page visually using the selected OCR engine.
Does Media2Excel receive software updates?
Media2Excel 0.4.1 includes signed update-check support for future releases. When a newer supported version is published, the application can notify users that an update is available.
Which versions of Windows are supported?
The current Media2Excel Beta is intended for 64-bit Windows 10 and Windows 11 computers.
Should I verify important financial data after conversion?
Yes. OCR and automated table extraction can make mistakes. Always review important figures, symbols, columns and table structure in the generated workbook before relying on the result.
