02

No document upload required

Your source documents are not sent to SoftCodeX servers simply because you convert them with Media2Excel.

03

We do not sell your data

SoftCodeX LTD does not sell or rent your personal information to advertisers or other third parties.

01 · Organisation

Who we are

SoftCodeX LTD is a private limited company registered in England and Wales.

Where applicable under data-protection law, SoftCodeX LTD acts as the data controller for personal information it collects and processes directly.

02 · Media2Excel

How Media2Excel handles your documents

Your files stay on your computer for conversion

Media2Excel is designed to perform document conversion locally on the Windows device running the application. Your source PDFs and images do not need to be uploaded to SoftCodeX for conversion.

Local file processing

When you select a supported PDF or image in Media2Excel, the application accesses that file only to perform the conversion you request.

  • OCR and table extraction are performed locally.
  • The resulting Excel workbook is written to the output location you choose.
  • SoftCodeX does not receive or store your source document as part of the conversion process.
  • SoftCodeX does not receive or store the generated workbook as part of the conversion process.

Documents containing sensitive information

Files you choose to process may contain personal, confidential, financial, business or otherwise sensitive information. Media2Excel accesses the selected file only for the purpose of performing the conversion requested by you.

Output files

Converted Excel workbooks are stored in the folder selected by you. SoftCodeX does not control what happens to files after they are saved.

If you save an output file inside a folder synchronised by OneDrive, Dropbox, Google Drive or another cloud provider, that provider may process the file according to its own privacy policy.

Application settings

Media2Excel may store application preferences locally on your device, including:

  • preferred or recently used output folders;
  • appearance and theme preferences;
  • post-conversion behaviour;
  • software update preferences.

Software update checks

Media2Excel may connect to the internet to check whether a newer supported version of the application is available. Ordinary technical information required for an internet connection, such as an IP address, may therefore be visible to the infrastructure providing the update information.

Your source PDFs, images, extracted tables and generated Excel workbooks are not transmitted as part of an update check.

03 · Website

Information collected through our website

Technical information

Our hosting, security and anti-spam systems may process technical information such as your IP address, browser type, operating system, request logs and browser user-agent information.

We may use this information for website security, troubleshooting, fraud prevention and spam detection.

  • website hosting providers;

  • payment processors;
  • security and anti-spam services;
  • infrastructure providers;
  • professional advisers where required.

We may also disclose information where reasonably necessary to comply with applicable law, legal process or lawful requests from public authorities.

Media2Excel document contents

Your Media2Excel document contents are not shared with these providers merely because you perform a local document conversion.

06 · Retention

How long we keep information

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, or where required by applicable law.

  • Account information may be retained while the relevant account remains active.
  • Support correspondence may be retained as necessary to resolve and document the request.
  • Transaction and accounting information may be retained for legally required periods.
  • Operational and security logs may be retained for appropriate security and troubleshooting periods.

Media2Excel files

Files processed locally by Media2Excel are not retained by SoftCodeX as part of the conversion process. You control the retention and deletion of input and output files stored on your own device.

07 · Security

Protecting information

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal information under our control.

No internet-connected system or electronic storage method can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Because Media2Excel performs document conversion locally, you are also responsible for protecting files stored on your computer, backups and any cloud-synchronised folders you choose to use.

Some service providers used by SoftCodeX may process information outside the United Kingdom.

Where required, we take appropriate steps to ensure that international transfers of personal information are handled in accordance with applicable data-protection law.
